I got an interesting message last week. “Emily from FlexJobs” messaged me, flattering me saying my resume marks me as a highly sought after candidate for a job. There was no job title and no description of its duties or “preferreds” or “good to haves.”
What it did say was that the job required just an hour a day or so and it paid $200 to $800 for that time.
I didn’t bite. I also didn’t delete it immediately. Sometimes it takes me awhile to catch on to what is said and this was one of those times.
Above “Emily’s” message was a line showing a URL with a Russian man’s name. Something like Boris Vorgochenko. That’s not exact – I don’t remember.
What I do remember is that the last time I applied for a job through FlexJobs was last century. FlexJobs does not recruit. It’s a jobs board that vets companies offering jobs.
I also remember that I’ve had some pretty strange dreams recently and I am aware that Substack has many contributors from the other side, some of them quite virulent, obscene and always angry.
I’ve also had to replace bank cards at least 3 times since last July. That’s gotta be a record.
Then there are the viruses on a Chromebook and Android phone that I don’t use anymore because they were suddenly so infected that I would have to do a factory reset and lose all my files.
I also remember that a few months ago, around 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning, there were two days when someone lingered about 5 seconds outside of my bedroom window shining a flashlight directly at the window. Luckily, the blinds were drawn and the window was locked.
Today I thought a few times about writing a Substack article about this alarming situation. FlexJobs does not call non-applicants for a job and I’ve never seen and could only imagine what I’d have to do to get $200 to $800 for one hour’s work.
It’s clear that Trump and his media cheerleaders have created the hysteria that disagreement with him is a criminal offense rising to the level of treason, which is a capital offense.
Thank the supreme court (sic) for fostering that attitude as they slice every paragraph of the Constitution to their liking, leaving out the limiting clauses that spell out with some exactitude just exactly what the framers meant.
I’ve wondered if I should avoid reporting this on Substack because that might draw even more “outreach” from the “Emilies” and others and increase the intimidation factor.
Instead, I write this to warn others that this is happening to me. Perhaps others are experiencing similar odd occurrences.
Rather than knuckle under, I prefer to underscore the spirit of “Hands Off” to report this crap here. I encourage any who experience something weird like this happening to them to also report it to the rest of us.
I also reported this to my Senators. The more these people try to scare us into limp fear and compliance, the more we should shout what is happening and scare the fucking hell out of them because we will not be silenced.
They may think that Trump’s long tour through the criminal code has left us too exhausted to demand the freedoms the Constitution guarantees all of us. Let’s air out how many other people are experiencing this invasion. Solidarity.
Scary stuff. We're all at risk, especially if we speak the truth. 🇱🇷
