Oh Hell No!!! Can you imagine a battered woman trying to escape the abusive marriage and having to deal with this nonsense???
Heads up Christian Nationalist’s and others who believe women should stay in abusive marriages - that’s how people get killed. That’s how cops get wounded or worse answering calls to the residence. And that’s what perpetuates the generational cycle of violence.
This Executive Order clearly puts married women in a second class position. So why get married???!
That’s what you Republicans want?!
Republicans - your ridiculous tariffs have increased the price of baby items like strollers and toys and cribs astronomically - but you want more babies???
So WHY, Republicans are you Doing Everything You can to make having a child in the United States more expensive and more difficult on prospective parents???

Yes, Kay G. I second and REPOST your sentiments, as I do Carol L. Clark's post.
Carol L. Clark: A definite SECOND to your post and your CORE VALUES.
As a husband of The-Love-and-Light-of-My-Life -- Nancy (together 54, married 52 years), as a DAD of two well-loved daughters, with two beautiful sons-in-law (loving dads and husbands) and SIX beautiful grandkids -- one of which is a 17-year-old PRECIOUS granddaughter . . .
Each woman, each girl, each trans, each boy (I apologize if I left anyone out) deserves as a RIGHT our love, an ability to live well and in good health and safe and secure in her/his person.
It is easy: LOVE EACH PERSON.
Treat EACH PERSON with love and respect.
As a Catholic, I have thoughts for today.
Primarily, the new Holy Father chooses to continue the heritage of Pope Leo XIII (2 March 1810 (Napoleone's time!!) - 20 July 1903).
Leo XIII was a singularly important spiritual person who promulgated Encyclicals to promote labor -- fair, humane working conditions and livable wages and LABOR UNIONS.
That the new Holy Father chooses the designation, LEO XIV, shows a promise to promote safety and dignity of each person, which today means in particular the immigrant, endangered by the Neo-Fascist policy of the American Government.
Trump was elected and sarcastically noted, His Administration was there to "Protect Women."
That is the same as the coyote protecting the chickens.
America is at a dismal state.
The cruelty towards children -- girls and boys -- the cruelty towards women, the especially sadistic and unconscionable POLICY against immigrants, is enough to break the heart of any person of good faith.
Armand, your post, your command of all of the issues regardless of our built-in human gender and color accessories, our stations in life, the qualities of work and life that are mandatory for a healthy society...you hit every one in its center. I'm happy your life has been so rewarding and remains so.
I was raised Episcopalian and John XXlll was Pope in my childhood. I was 14 or 15 and I loved his message that so reflected my sense of the truly faithful life. Then these many years later we were gifted with Francis who breathed hope and humanity into the world. From what little I've read of Leo XIV, I'm hopeful. Respect for all of life no matter our differences. Our differences are the only way we learn who we are and who we may become.
Finally, there are those who join relationships to dominate. Then there are those who join relationships for love, erotic or agape. We're here to relate with love.
Thank you for your words and for reading my posts. And yes, resist, then claw back all that's been stolen by the vandals.
Carol L. Clark: As an Episcopalian, if I were a Eucharistic Minister, I certainly would give you Holy Communion, as I believe the Lutheran, Episcopalian and Orthodox theology of the Body and Blood of Christ are bridgeable.
As an Episcopalian, I believe you have as much right to the moniker, "Catholic," as do I or any other Roman Catholic.
We enter relationships to a variety of reasons.
In my relations with Nancy, attraction has been huge from the beginning, but life decisions were made for her health. For example, in 41-years of uniformed and civilian service with the Air Force and Navy, I had used enough leave to take care of my wife's health to exhaust my supply. So, I retired in 2016, at only 68, years before I wanted to, because my energy with my Navy client was by no means exhausted -- I LOVED and still LOVE the Navy lab I counseled (the Gulf Coast and Monterey California). I LOVE that client and would STILL (at 77) work with them, but exhausted my leave to take care of my wife's health.
A 54-year-love is certainly attraction, but also betokens a person who means EVERYTHING to me, for whom I would do ANYTHING.
As I feel about my daughters, my sons-in-law, my five grandsons, and my WELL-LOVED 17-year-old Granddaughter -- what a wonderful granddaughter who fills our lives!
So, a husband, dad, and grandfather, who truly loves his wife and family, can easily relate to eros (ἔρως), phileo (φιλέω), and agape (ἀγάπη).
All three loves bring great joy.
Between the Conclave and two readings of horrific humanitarian situations (one in Iran, the other in Stalin's Russia near the time I was born) lead me to collect thoughts soon in a writing.
Thank you for standing for values of humanity and love, and I hope, as I do in you, you find a friend in me for common, core values.

These factors charge our energy to RESIST.

If I knew how to add an emoji with a heart, I'd do so, friend. Thank you.
We fight these fuckers. I tell women daily to arm themselves with what they feel comfortable with but learn how to use it and practice.
The Republicans with their Evangelical bullshit have declared war on women and marginalized communities.
It's fight back or screw our granddaughters futures.
